Thunderstorms, with heavy winds, are possible this evening and the wet weather will likely continue through Wednesday.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist David Chandley said Atlanta could see rain around 8 p.m. this evening and it could last until 11 p.m. A severe thunderstorm watch has been posted for several metro Atlanta counties and beyond, effective until 11 p.m. Check today's full weather report and track changes.

Storms return Wednesday: Chandley said the chance of rain is 50 percent Wednesday, with possible scattered showers through Wednesday afternoon.

Cooler temperatures by Thursday: Chandley said highs will be in the low 80s Wednesday and Thursday.

Weekend outlook: A 30 percent chance of rain is forecast for Friday through Sunday, with highs in the mid-80s and lows in the upper 60s.
