A northwest Atlanta convenience store clerk is recovering after being shot Wednesday during a predawn robbery.

Atlanta police Sgt. Greg Lyon told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Khainan Murdock was shot once in the right leg during a robbery at the Vine City Supermarket in the 900 block of Joseph E. Boone Boulevard.

“The victim told police two men entered the store and shot him before taking money from the cash register,” Lyon said. “The suspects then ran south across Joseph E. Boone and toward the apartments on Rock Street.”

Murdock was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately available.

Police have made no arrests in the shooting, which happened about 4:45 a.m.
