Atlanta police are seeking information regarding the shooting of a man found dead inside his northwest Atlanta home earlier this year, including the identity of a possible witness to the crime.
The fatal shooting happened March 3 in the 1400 block of Bolton Road. A friend told police that he discovered the body of 33-year-old Randy Cherry, also known as “Ra-Ra,” when he went to the home around 11:40 p.m. When no one came to the door, the friend looked in a window and saw Cherry bleeding on a sofa.
Now police are attempting to identify a possible witness. They said Tuesday night that they are seeking a white man, 25 to 35 years old, with short, dirty blond hair and eyeglasses. He is also said to dip tobacco, speak with a Southern accent, possibly have a tattoo on the calf of his right leg, and drive a newer model gray/silver Ford F-150 truck. He is also believed to have worked in the flooring or carpet business.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the man in question or any other details in this case to call Crime Stoppers at 404-557-TIPS, visit www.crimestoppersatlanta.org or text CSA and the tip to CRIMES (274637). Crime Stoppers tipsters can remain anonymous and may receive up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
