It’s going to be a warm Monday in metro Atlanta, and the rest of the week is looking pretty hot, too.

Morning temperatures are in the 60s, as it has been for the past few weeks. By the afternoon, we’ll be back up in the mid 80s for highs.

“This week is gonna be a very warm week across North Georgia,” Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan said. “In fact, the warmest weather of the year for a lot of us.”

Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s throughout the week, and not much rain is in the forecast.

On Monday, there is a 20% chance of isolated downpours in some areas. Most showers will stay to the north of the city, Monahan said.

Things stay mostly dry at least through Friday, when we will see a 40% of scattered thunderstorms that will stay with us throughout the weekend.

Five-day forecast for May 20, 2024.
