Clayton County students will have an independent learning day on today, the third such “Extending Learning Beyond the Classroom Day” of the new school year.

Students will remain home for “asynchronous” or independent learning, while staff will also work virtually for the day.

The district will begin its fall break on Monday and will return to class Oct. 19, the school system said. District offices will be closed during the break.

Employees of the school system will resume regular operating hours on Oct. 18 as a staff development day.
