Clayton County students will start the 2022-2023 school year off on Aug. 3, the district’s board of education decided Monday.

The group chose the opening day out of two options presented for the 2022 school year this coming summer. The other option was to start the school year on Aug. 1, 2022.

The last day of classes will be May 24, 2023.

By starting on Aug. 3, new teacher orientation and educator pre-planning will run from July 25 through Aug. 2.
