Forest Park High School students will learn virtually this week because of increasing COVID-19 infections.

The Clayton County Schools district recently announced the move as a precaution. The district has switched more than 20 schools to temporary remote learning because of coronavirus outbreaks since classes began in early August.

Forest Park High students are expected to return to the building in two weeks on Sept. 27.

Clayton also pivoted Sequoyah Middle School in Riverdale to remote learning last week. Sequoyah students will also return to the school building on Sept. 27.

School systems across metro Atlanta have either temporarily switched classes, entire grade levels or schools to remote learning because of growing COVID-19 infections.
