Since mid-February in the city of Atlanta, recycling and yard trimming pickups have been reduced to every other week.

But weekly recycling and yard waste collection for Atlanta residents is resuming the week of Monday, June 7, the city’s Department of Public Works announced.

The collection cut-back was due to coronavirus cases and staff shortages within the department, officials said earlier this year. A higher-than-usual number of employees began calling out of work starting in early February, and several were recovering from COVID-19.

The city continued to make weekly trash pickups throughout this year.

More information is available on the Department of Public Works website.
