Atlanta is dominating the mobile revolution, according to NerdWallet's latest analysis on the most mobile-friendly cities in America.
Of the nation's 50 most populous cities according to the U.S. Census Bureau, Atlanta earned top honors.
To come up with each city's overall scores, NerdWallet analysts examined four core measures: performance, customer service, crime risk and mobile websites and taxes.
Atlanta scored high in nearly all of the metrics. Among the 50 cities measured, Atlanta ranked No. 2 in carrier network coverage and third for customer service.
Of the top 10 cities, Atlanta also has the second-lowest wireless tax rate, according to the analysis.
For performance scores, NerdWallet looked at upload and download speeds measured in megabits per second (mbps) for speeds of 2G, 3G and 4G carrier networks.
This was also measured by how many carrier networks were available in the city.
To measure customer service, NerdWallet read reviews and noted the number of mobile phone stores per 10,000 residents.
City websites were researched to see how well-designed they are for mobile users and data from the Tax Foundation's 2015 study on wireless taxes and fees helped determine the tax rate to use a mobile device in each city.
Lastly, crime risk was determined by proprietary data from NeighborhoodScout to examine how safe residents feel when using their devices in public.
