Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed will serve as the keynote speaker at the Consulate General of Israel’s official Israel Independence Day Celebration on Sunday at The Temple, 1589 Peachtree Road.

“Mayor Reed is a great friend of Israel,” said Consul General Opher Aviran. “It is my honor and pleasure to have Mayor Reed addresses our special guests during this 65th Independence Day.”

Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens will also be honored for, according to Aviran, “fostering the enduring relationship between Israel and Georgia.”

Following the reception, vocalist David D’Or will perform at a community-wide concert. The program will start at 6 p.m. and is by invitation only.
