Investigators believe the same suspects are responsible for burglarizing four businesses and two homes in the Canton area. But so far, only one suspect has been identified, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.
The string of burglaries happened between Aug. 3 and Aug. 7 in the Bridgemill and Sixes Road area, according to Lt. Jay Baker. A Subway restaurant and three gas stations were targeted on Sixes Road, Baker said.
“In all four incidents, a cement block or rock was thrown through the front glass doors while the businesses were closed and drawers from the cash registers were taken,” Baker said in an emailed statement.
Two homes in the Bridgemill neighborhood were also burglarized, according to investigators. A 50-inch television was taken from one home, but nothing was reported missing from the second, Baker said.
Savon Jones, 21, of Atlanta, has been charged with one count of burglary in connection with the theft of the television, Baker said. But Jones’ whereabouts are unknown. Anyone with information on his location is asked to call 911.
Jones is a suspect in the commercial burglaries, but has not been charged in connection with those crimes at this time, Baker said. Investigators believe at least one other suspect was involved in the business burglaries and additional arrests are possible.
Anyone with information about the incidents is urged to contact detectives at 770-928-0239.
