An Atlanta man faces several felony charges after investigators said he used stolen bank cards to make child support payments online.

Michael Odell Dorsey, 30, was charged last week following a monthslong investigation into the use of stolen funds, GBI spokeswoman Natalie Ammons said.

The investigation into Dorsey began in February after authorities were alerted to “successful and multiple attempts to use stolen methods of payment” on the Division of Child Support Services website, the GBI said.

“One successful payment of $1,500 was made using someone’s banking information,” Ammons said. “Additional payments were attempted using other victims’ banking information and stolen credit cards.”

It wasn’t immediately clear where the cards were stolen from or when they were taken. Dorsey, who is charged with four counts of identity fraud and four counts of computer theft, was booked into the Fulton County Jail on Thursday, online records show.

He is being held without bond.
