A new show is coming to WSB’s sister station KISS 104.1, Atlanta’s best R&B. Atlanta broadcast legend and award-winning journalist, Monica Pearson, will begin her own show January 12, 2014.
Pearson’s new show, “The Monica Pearson Show,” will air Sundays from noon to 2 p.m. Content will include talk mixed with R&B music from the 70s to today. Also Pearson will be adding to the mix, her own thoughts and opinions, on topics important to the listener.
The show will add to Pearson’s already decorated accomplishments that include anchoring the daily evening news on WSB-TV. She has won over 33 Southern Regional and local Emmy Awards for reporting, anchoring, and hosting a celebrity interview show.
Pearson retired from television in 2012 and has been writing a column for “Southern Seasons” magazine, as well as getting her Master’s degree at UGA.
"I am extremely excited about working for KISS 104.1, Atlanta's best R&B,” said Pearson. “It allows me to return to my first love, radio, working with great music, great people and to remain in the Cox Media Group family. This is an opportunity for people to see me in a different light. After all, I consider myself the Madonna of broadcasting ̶ always changing."
