Police have five people in custody following a chase that ended in south DeKalb County, authorities said.

Offers were called to the scene of a burglary in progress on Baltic Way near Stone Mountain around noon on Tuesday, DeKalb police spokesman Capt. Stephen Fore told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Residents gave a description of the stolen getaway vehicle to police who spotted it on Turner Hill Road, Fore said.

Officers pursued the vehicle to Panola Road, with state troopers joining the chase along the way, police said.

At Hillandale Drive and Panola Road, Fore said the vehicle flipped over and the individuals inside fled on foot.

Police set up a perimeter and were able to arrest the suspect, he said.
