Police arrested four people who allegedly robbed a man in a McDonald’s parking lot in Woodstock and beat him up Thursday, officials said.
The victim told police the suspects approached him in the parking lot around 3:30 p.m. and asked him to make change for them, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. When the man took out his wallet, the suspects knocked it out of his hand, police said.
“All the suspects then began to gather up the cash money as it laid on the ground after coming out of the wallet,” the sheriff’s office said. “As the victim was trying to collect his money off the ground, he was struck by the suspects.”
After collecting the money, they left the scene but were located by officers in a nearby neighborhood.
Three of the suspects were not identified because they are juveniles; they were charged with robbery, according to police.
A fourth suspect, 17-year-old Njoroge Kabibi, was charged with robbery by force and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was held without bond, police said.
