Police have made an arrest in the late November home invasion and shooting death of a south Fulton County Target store manager.
Pamela Williams died of her injuries on Dec. 3, four days after she was shot during a burglary at her home, authorities said.
Tuesday afternoon, Jonathan Banks was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Metro Fugitive Task Force on murder charges, Fulton County Police spokeswoman Cpl. Kay Lester said.
Banks, 23, is charged with murder and burglary, police said.
Lester said he was identified and arrested based on tips from Crime Stoppers Atlanta.
Early Tuesday evening, Banks was being questioned by police detectives at the Fulton police headquarters, she said. He was booked into the Fulton County jail late Tuesday.
On the night of Nov. 30, the 45-year-old Williams called police when she heard someone breaking into her home in the 3000 block of Amhurst Parkway.
Police arrived minutes later to find Williams unresponsive with gunshot wounds, authorities said.
She died days later, police said.
Neighbors and friends collected funds to raise $15,000 for a reward in an arrest or conviction connected to the incident, officials said.
Banks will be taken to the Fulton County jail when investigators are done questioning him.
According to jail records, Banks has been arrested four times in the past five years on burglary charges, and he was also arrested in 2007 robbery by force charges.
More suspects are being sought in connection with the incident, but the investigation continues.
