AJC investigation: Jonesboro psychiatrist linked to 36 patient deaths

An AJC investigation found that Jonesboro psychiatrist Narendra Nagareddy was known across metro Atlanta’s southside as the go-to physician for prescription drug addicts. Officials say he is linked to the deaths of 36 of his patients.

If the allegations are true, Jonesboro psychiatrist Narendra Nagareddy may be the deadliest doctor in Georgia.

Law enforcement officials say he may be responsible for the deaths of 36 patients.

Yet as the death toll mounted, none of the state safeguards designed to protect the public managed to stop Nagareddy, an Atlanta Journal-Constitution investigation found.
