The truck belonging to a man accused of shooting his wife to death was found Tuesday. But Atlanta police have not yet found the accused killer.
Dondrelle Moultrie remained on the loose Tuesday afternoon, according to Officer John Chafee with Atlanta police. Once he’s caught, he’s expected to be charged with homicide in the death of his estranged wife, according to police.
The woman, identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office as Melanie McQueen-Moultrie, 35, was shot multiple times in her vehicle in front of of her home Emerald Court, off Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Monday afternoon, according to Lt. Paul Guerrucci with Atlanta police. Police were called to the home around 5:30 p.m., Guerrucci said.
“It appears that she was in her vehicle when she was shot and the vehicle traveled a short distance and hit a mailbox,” Guerrucci told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Hours after the shooting, police asked for the public’s help in finding both Moultrie and his vehicle, a 2008 teal Chevrolet Silverado with Georgia tag BCQ 8516. The truck was located and impounded Tuesday, Chafee said.
