The man who discovered a Dalton convenience store clerk dead inside the Hi-Tech Fuel gas station told 911 operators that he found the victim bleeding and blindfolded on the floor of the store, according to dispatch logs and 911 audio obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Skyy Raven Marie Mims, 21, is accused of stabbing Dahyabhi Kalidas Chaudhari to death inside the gas station, then stealing cash and lottery tickets, police said.

According to the dispatch log released Thursday, a man called Whitfield County 911 about 30 seconds before midnight Sunday.

“We just walked in the store and seen that the guy’s down,” the caller told the 911 operator. “There’s change on the floor. It looked like they’d been robbed.”

Asked by the operator if the clerk was injured, the caller replied, “I seen blood on the floor,” then said that the clerk was blindfolded and appeared to be dead.

On the 911 tape, the operator can be heard asking caller, “So it was just one clerk in there, there wasn’t anybody else in there when you walked in?”

“Correct,” he replied.

“When we pulled up, we didn’t see anybody. We noticed there was change laying behind the register.”

At that point, the operator asked the caller to stay in his vehicle outside the store and wait on emergency responders.
