A 4-year-old boy has raised $1,300 for the victims of last month’s flooding that killed 22 people in Waverly, Tennessee, according to reports.

Upon learning from his mother that it would be too dangerous to go to Waverly to help the victims, Cade Avalon decided a fundraiser would, as his mother told WKRN, “help the damaged homes be rebuilt and fix the broken hearts.”

Cade then set up a cookie stand in his Dickson County yard, selling homemade treats to raise money, WKRN reported.

Along with help from his mother and grandparents, Cade baked 200 cookies and collected $1,300 to benefit the flooding victims, according to WKRN.

“Honestly, we didn’t expect that big of a turnout! It was heartwarming and an incredible demonstration of kindness in our community. I’m really grateful he got to experience it,” Cade’s mother told the news outlet.
