The biggest winner on Election Day might have been the lottery player in New York who matched all six numbers in Tuesday night’s Mega Millions drawing, winning a huge $321 million jackpot.

If that player chooses the cash option, he or she will receive a one-time payout of approximately $194 million before taxes.

The numbers drawn Tuesday were 9, 15, 24, 39 and 41, and the Mega Ball was 1.

The single winning ticket in the multi-state lottery was sold in Middletown, N.Y.

The Mega Millions jackpot has been climbing since a player in California won $180 million on August 22.

The Powerball jackpot has been growing since late September, making the top prize in Wednesday night’s drawing $178 million.

The Powerball and Mega Millions drawings can be seen live on WSB-TV, just before the Channel 2 Action News Nightbeat at 11 p.m.
