Two teenage passengers have died after a car wreck in Columbus, according to Muscogee County Deputy Coroner Elizabeth Allison, and an investigation is continuing, news outlet WRBL reported.

Aireona Jackson, 17, and Carolyn Jones, 16, died at the scene, WRBL reported, citing Allison.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to a local hospital, and their condition is not known, according to WRBL.

Columbus police arrived at the scene on South Lumpkin Road about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A portion of the road is blocked off, according to WRBL, while the investigation continues.
