A $10,000 reward is now being offered for tips leading to those responsible for hanging a dog from a DeKalb County bridge.
The medium-sized, brown and white pit bull mix was found on the morning of May 20, tied to a metal chain and hanging from a small bridge on Kelly Lake Road, police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said at the time. The dog was deceased and had no collar or tags.
On Wednesday, Parish told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that there were no new developments in the investigation but said that Crime Stoppers Atlanta is now offering a $10,000 reward for tips in the case.
Tipsters can remain anonymous and can reach Crime Stoppers by calling 404-577-TIPS or visiting crimestoppersatlanta.org.
“We are encouraging anyone who may have information to call,” Parish said.
Kelly Lake Road runs between Candler and Whites Mill roads, just north of I-20 in the Candler-McAfee neighborhood. The bridge where the dog was hanged spans a small creek.
