A DeKalb County interstate ramp was shut down during the early stages of Tuesday’s morning commute after a tractor-trailer overturned, dumping a load of frozen chicken onto the ramp.
The truck wrecked about 3 a.m. on the ramp from I-285 southbound to I-20 eastbound.
The state Department of Transportation reported that the truck was hauling 40,000 pounds of frozen chicken.
No injuries were reported. The driver told Channel 2 Action News that he was hauling the chicken from Texas to South Carolina when he lost control of his truck.
Crews were able upright the truck and remove it, and reopen the ramp, about 6 a.m., but were still working to clear the spilled chicken from the shoulder of the ramp.
