The Sandy Springs City Council recently approved an agreement with Comcast Cable Communications for aerial-to-underground utility relocation for the Johnson Ferry Road and Mount Vernon Highway Intersection Improvement Project.

The $239,998 contract will take preexisting telecommunication lines, remove the utility poles and relocate them underground to highlight the design planned for Veterans Park. The park will encompass the Roswell Road Triangle at the intersection of Johnson Ferry Road and Mount Vernon Highway to the Sandy Springs Library.

Comcast will follow the trench plan established by Georgia Power. The city sees the aerial-to-underground plan as essential to both executing the TSPLOST-funded transportation project and in creating Veterans Park.
