Contractors for the Georgia Department of Transportation will have lane closures in place this weekend on Ga. 140/Houze Road/Arnold Mill Road in Fulton County from the Cherokee County line to just south of Houze Way in Roswell to continue resurfacing activities.

This project includes patching, milling, inlay, paving and striping activities on 5.8 miles of the roadway to improve its deteriorating condition, provide a much smoother ride and improve the integrity of the road materials and topping.

Weather and on-site conditions permitting, one lane will be closed on Ga. 140 eastbound or westbound from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5 and Sunday, Nov. 7. Flaggers will be on-site to assist drivers through the closures as crews begin milling and paving the road.

This $2 million resurfacing project is scheduled for completion in spring 2022.

As always, drivers are reminded to slow down through the work zone.

Motorists are also encouraged to wear seatbelts, eliminate distractions behind the wheel, and plan their travel before getting on the road by calling 511 for real-time information on work status and traffic conditions.
