Saturday, Alpharetta residents have an opportunity to get rid of those items not accepted in weekly recycling including paint and paint-related substances, gasoline that isn’t usable, home and garden chemicals, poisons, and other substances.

Residents must pre-register to participate in the household hazardous waste and paint one-day recycling collection event 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Alpharetta Public Works Department, 1790 Hembree Road.

There is no charge for the disposal of acceptable items, but this event is for residents only; the city is unable to offer this collection to Alpharetta businesses.

Complete the pre-registration form by Thursday and bring the confirmation form with your items Saturday. Items should be in original containers and separated by category. Residents will be instructed to wear a face covering and remain in their vehicle at the collection site while technicians unload vehicles.
