CupPoki, a poke and ramen fast food spot in the Mall of Georgia, had more than nine foodborne illness risk factors during a recent routine inspection.

The restaurant scored a 46/U and were warned that repeat and uncorrected violations could result in a permit suspension.

The boba tapioca pearls for drinks were at an unsafe temperature, but the restaurant had no thermometer to check.

A repeat violation was noted about the hand sinks. Utensils were stored in one, and another one was blocked by a trash can. Points were taken off because an employee did not wash his hands between washing dishes, and handling food and utensils on the prep table.

Utensils were improperly stored in room temperature water, in ice water, and some with handles in the food. In addition, an employee phone and multiple drinking cups were on the food prep table.

Unwashed produce, raw meat and raw salmon were stored above ready-to-eat food in the walk-in cooler.

CupPoki, 3333 Buford Drive, Buford, will have a follow-up inspection within ten days of this Oct. 27 inspection. Its previous food score was 94/A.
