Christy Taylor has been appointed interim city clerk in McDonough effective Nov. 1. The appointment was approved by the City Council at its Oct. 7 regular meeting. She has been working in the clerk’s office already, and in this new role she will serve until Jan. 30, 2022 as an independent contractor with no benefits. In other business, the council approved a revised mutual aid agreement for law enforcement services between the county and its other three cities that overrides the previous agreement signed April 1 of this year. It allows all law enforcement agencies in the county to work side by side in the event of a local emergency. Information: mcdonoughga.org.
