Two separate ordinances amending the personnel policy for Locust Grove city employees were approved by unanimous vote of the City Council at its Oct. 4 regular meeting. The first one included a new salary schedule for the addition of a fire marshal position, which is being added to the city’s Community Development Department to provide better service and maintain safety standards. The position could be filled by a contractor if no qualified applicants are found in a reasonable time, according to city staff. The second is to activate a mechanic position which has since 2017 been supplemented by nearby repair shops. Information: locustgrove-ga.gov.
