Four new appointments have been made to the Region 4/West Georgia Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council. The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted Aug. 3 to approve the naming of interim fire chief Jonathan Burnette, deputy fire chief Stacey Ponder, assistant chief Billy Petite and Lt. Sam Polk to the council.

Petite and Polk have served previously and their three-year terms expired June 30. They will now serve another three years. Burnette replaced recently retired chief Luther Phillips for a term ending in June of 2022, and Ponder replaced deputy chief Rodney Wiggins whose term expires in June of 2023.
