A considerable amount of time was spent discussing the location of a new county-owned aquatic center at the Henry County Board of Commissioners’ Jan. 6 regular meeting, but no final decision was made. Sites on Jodeco Road, Mill Road, Red Hawk Park and Willow Lane were discussed, according to county officials, with explanations given of the advantages and disadvantages of each site.

An allocation of $22 million for the aquatic center was included in the project list on the most recent SPLOST referendum approved by voters last year. More information will be forthcoming about each location, and the commissioners will resume their discussion at a future meeting.
