The Georgia Department of Transportation plans for construction partners to begin single lane closures along Ga. 20/Buford Drive beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10. The lane closures will continue from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly for approximately 90 days as crews resurface and patch approximately 5 miles of the corridor from Laurel Drive in Buford to Ga. 316/University Pkwy in Lawrenceville.

Locations will change within the project limits nightly and all construction dates depend on weather conditions. Once patching is complete and resurfacing begins, the project has an estimated completion date of April 2022.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and use caution while traveling through work zones. Stay alert and watch for workers. Real-time information on work status and traffic conditions is available by calling 511, at 511ga.org, or by downloading the Georgia 511 app.
