The Georgia Department of Transportation will begin lane closures between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11 on Martin Farm Road at Suwanee Creek in Suwanee. One lane will remain open and traffic will be directed around the closed lane.

GDOT is conducting a bridge foundation investigation in preparation for a bridge replacement project anticipated to begin as early as late 2022.

The lane closures are part of GDOT’s Local Bridge Replacement Program, created in 2017 using federal funds to target the replacement of locally-owned posted bridges.

GDOT provides preliminary engineering costs, utility relocations, all construction costs and 50 percent of preliminary right-of-way estimates that include all acquisition fees and other related costs.

Replaced bridges meet current safety standards and lower the state’s number of posted bridges, bridges that restrict certain vehicles based on weight including emergency vehicles, school buses, etc.
