Former state Rep. Kevin Tanner (R-Dawsonville) begins his new job Monday as Forsyth County manager. He was the sole finalist for the position, and his appointment was affirmed last month by the Forsyth County Board.

“I am glad to be joining Forsyth County,” Tanner said. “There are a lot of good things happening, and I look forward to working with the Board of Commissioners and county staff to continue to advance the board’s vision for the county.”

Tanner most recently served four terms as state representative for District 9, which includes Lumpkin County and parts of Dawson and Forsyth counties. His more than 30 years of public service includes five years as Dawson County manager.

Tanner has an undergraduate degree from North Georgia College and State University, and a master’s of public administration degree from Columbus State University. He succeeds former County Manager Eric Johnson. Information: https://bit.ly/393f9tX
