Peachtree City has temporarily extended the terms of two members of its Planning Commission that were originally scheduled to expire on Sept. 30. The City Council voted 5-0 at the Sept. 16 meeting to allow member Frank Destadio and alternate member Rick Mendenhall to stay on the commission through Nov. 4. The council also voted unanimously to reappoint Michael Link to a new term that begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30, 2024.

All three seats had been set to expire at the end of this month, and applications to fill them were accepted July 1-30 this summer. Five applications were received, but the city is still interviewing candidates for the last two positions. Destadio is currently running for mayor, so the outcome of the Nov. 2 election will also be a factor in filling the remaining Planning Commission appointments.
