Through the end of the year, many holiday events are planned in DeKalb County - mainly about Christmas and Hanukkah.

Here are a few of them but just those being held mainly in Avondale Estates, Dunwoody and the city of Stone Mountain.

  • Holiday Bake Sale by Avondale Woman’s Club: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Avondale Community Club.
  • Poinsettia Sale by Avondale Elementary School. $15 each for white or red 6.5-inch poinsettias. Order by Nov. 26. Drive-through pickup will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Beth Breit Gym.

  • Drive through or online: Operation Christmas Child. Gift-filled shoeboxes can be built online for distribution worldwide to children in need as a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse.
