The public is invited to attend Virtual Volunteer Information Sessions - hosted by the DeKalb County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program - at 11 a.m. Nov. 15 or 6 p.m. Nov. 16.

Also, December sessions will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 1 and 6 p.m. Dec. 2.

These sessions will be held via Zoom and usually last less than an hour.

DeKalb CASA’s mission is “to recruit, screen, train and supervise court-appointed volunteers who advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children under the protection of the DeKalb County Juvenile Court system ... we are committed to ensuring that they can grow in a safe, nurturing environment with the goal of achieving permanency,” according to DeKalb CASA’s website.

During the sessions, staff will provide an overview of the history of the CASA Program, volunteer opportunities/responsibilities and information regarding next steps, application, interviewing, training, and answer questions.
