MLK Day is fast approaching and the city of Doraville hopes residents will join officials on this nationally observed day of service where people all over the country come together to volunteer and improve their communities.

According to a press release, Doraville, will be spending Jan. 16 making Chicopee Park greener, cleaner, and healthier for all to enjoy.

Event activities include:

- Building and painting birdhouses, which will later be placed on trees in Chicopee Park

- Mulching around the playgrounds

- Painting the pavilion
