The DeKalb County Board of Health is now offering COVID-19 vaccinations for children ages 5 to 11 at several locations.

Last week, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cleared the way for the Pfizer vaccine to be administered to the youngest group of children yet. Pediatricians and other facilities quickly began offering the shots, but Monday marked the first day the DeKalb health department made them available for the new age group.

Free vaccines are available at the department’s four health centers: Clifton Springs (3110 Clifton Springs Road in Decatur); East DeKalb (2277 S. Stone Mountain-Lithonia Road in Lithonia); North DeKalb (3807 Clairmont Road NE in Chamblee); and T.O. Vinson (440 Winn Way in Decatur).

Pediatric vaccines are not being offered at the county’s mass vaccination site at the Doraville MARTA station.
