Officials are restricting portions of The Battery outside Truist Park to only World Series ticket holders.

The Braves confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that they closed the area due to crowds.

Tens of thousands of fans have descended on the Cobb County stadium and The Battery, which has become a gathering place for team supporters without tickets, for a potentially decisive Game 5. Even more were expected to converge on the area should the Braves clinch the title.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporters on the ground outside the park said the inner part of The Battery has been barricaded. But thousands of others are there watching the game from a big screen.

At least one restaurant in The Battery has run out of alcohol.

The Braves are one victory away from defeating the Houston Astros. If they win, it will be the team’s first championship since 1995.

The county government said earlier in the day that portions of the Battery could be restricted.
