Due to rain, the annual National Night Out in Powder Springs has been canceled for 6-8 p.m. Oct. 5 in Thurman Springs Park, 4485 Pineview Drive.

A rain date has not been announced, according to city spokesman Jon Gargis in an email statement on Oct. 5.

Sponsors are the Powder Springs Police Department, other city departments and community sponsors.

Held annually, the city’s 2020 event was held online and streamed live on social media.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.

Powder Springs is among the thousands of communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide that hold National Night Out events on the first Tuesday in August or October.
