Keep Cobb Beautiful will host a Community Recycling Event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 13 at Jim Miller Park, 2245 Callaway Road, Marietta.

Everyone who registers for this event is asked to stay in their vehicles.

Electronics

Cobb County will collect electronics, metals, textiles (such as clothing and bedding) and household goods.

For electronics, there is a $10 fee to collect CRT televisions and monitors (items with extended backs).

There is no charge for flat-screen TVs or monitors.

Items must be emptied of all oil, fuel and other liquids before drop off (such as refrigerators or lawn mowers).

Paper shredding

For free, on-site paper shredding will be provided by a licensed, bonded and locally owned company.

Not allowed are file folders, glossy paper, magazines, junk mail, periodicals, newspaper, books, CDs, DVDs or binders.

Remove paper clips and binder clips, but staples are okay.

There will be a limit of 10 small boxes/banker boxes/kitchen size bags per vehicle.

Small plastic bins/recycled bags are acceptable and will be placed back into the vehicle after emptying.

Large containers/boxes/construction-type bags will be rejected.

Plastics

The Hefty® EnergyBag® program orange bags also will be accepted for hard-to-recycle plastics without limit.

The American Kidney Foundation will be collecting clean and reusable household items, clothing and shoes.

They include items such as dishes, fabric, curtains, CD’s, records, DVD’s, small working appliances, tools, artwork, books and toys.

Clothing and shoes are especially needed.
