A new sidewalk, a water line relocation and a rough railroad crossing are among the capital project updates recently posted on Ball Ground’s city website.

The final sidewalk project of 2020 has been taking place on Old Canton Road behind City Hall, according to the “Greetings from the City Manager” column by Eric Wilmarth. The work fills a sidewalk gap between Beck and Depot streets.

The city’s contractor for the A.W. Roberts Drive water line relocation is to start work at the beginning of the new year. “Once the relocation is done, it will allow extensive road repair by the state to permanently fix one of the worst roadways in the city,” Wilmarth said.

Finally, improvements are scheduled for July, 2021, for the Depot Street rail crossing. “As always, the railroad expects the city to pay a large portion of the improvements, and we are willing to do that,” Wilmarth said. Information: https://bit.ly/3pw0nCF
