Khirsten Carter of Newnan, Destinee Henry of Norcross, William Pratt of Covington and Elissa Villalovas of Fairburn graduated from Berea College in Kentucky in June.

Kelvin Darby of McDonough graduated from Buffalo State in the spring.

Roman Boothe of Alpharetta and Keyshaun Scott of Roswell graduated from Adelphi University in Garden City, NJ in May.

Johannes Byle of Tyrone, Caroline Catanzarite of Cumming, Natalie Hung of Peachtree City, Esther Kim of Johns Creek and HeeJin Noh of Suwanee graduated this spring from Wheaton College in Illinois.

Shannon Allen, Ryan Donovan, Amber MacDonald and Chris Cathcart of Alpharetta, Anika Patel of Decatur, Todd Humphrey of Lawrenceville, Michael Kunetz, Alex Adams and Walker Ashmore of Marietta, Jack Budow of Roswell, Yanqing Zhao of Duluth, Jahmal Wynter of McDonough, Kendall Kirkman, Lyndsi Fisher, James McGuire, Izzy Schwarze, Taylor McManus, Claire Rinck and Kevin Kelley of Atlanta and Drew Geeslin of Brookhaven recently graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Thomas Howser recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout at Troop 77 from Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur.

Georgia Power Area Manager for North Fulton and North DeKalb Misty Fernandez has been named the Chair of the Latin American Association, the largest and oldest Hispanic serving organization in the state.

John Zeigler, 45 year resident in Gwinnett County, swimming for the  Georgia Masters Team, placed first in the 200 yard Butterfly, men 75-79, at the national masters swimming championships, in Greensboro, North Carolina. He also earned two silver medals in the 400 yard individual medley and 200 yard breaststroke, two thirds in the 100 yard breaststroke and 100 butterfly, and a fourth place in the 50 yard breaststroke. John Zeigler is swimming in his 50 th year of competition for U.S. Masters Swimming. He is in the World Police & Fire Games, Athletic Hall of Fame for swimming, Class of 2019. Of the 18 members of the HOF, John is the only Georgia fireman or law enforcement officer. John was inducted at the opening ceremonies held in China.

Atlanta Teacher of the Visually Impaired, Tracy Fitch, has been named as Braille Institute of America’s Teacher of the Year. This national award is giving each year to the Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) who is recognized for their hard work, ingenuity and dedication to the community of youth who are visually impaired.
