It’s looking like a warm and relatively rain-free weekend (see the weather and traffic report below), and there are plenty of opportunities to get outside. Here are a few options.

FESTIVAL FUN

It's a big weekend for outdoor festivals all over the metro Atlanta area. If food is your focus, check out the Smoke on the Lake BBQ Festival at Cauble Park at Acworth Beach, happening Friday and Saturday, May 11 and 12 (4425 Beach St., Acworth. 770-714-7135, www.smokeonthelake.org). Or maybe you'd prefer wings, which you'll find in abundance at the Slingin' Wings Festival at Brookhaven Park (2660 Osborne Road, www.slinginwingsfestival.com). That's taking place on Saturday, May 12, and it's $15-$35. It's also the weekend several more festivals, all happening Saturday and Sunday, May 12-13: Sweet Auburn SpringFest (230 John Wesley Dobbs Ave. sweetauburn.com); the Cherokee County Indian Festival and Mother's Day Powwow ($15; $5 ages 6-12; age 5 and younger free. Boling Park, 1200 Marietta Highway, Canton. 770-735-6275, rthunder.com); the Chastain Park Arts Festival (Chastain Park, 4469 Stella Drive. www.chastainparkartsfestival.com); and the Dunwoody Art Festival (1449 Dunwoody Village Parkway, Dunwoody. www.splashfestivals.com).

XPERIMENTAL PUPPETRY THEATER

Puppet shows aren't just for kids. In fact, sometimes they're designed specifically for grown-ups. That's the case Xperimental Puppetry Theater at the Center for Puppetry Arts, which runs Thursday through Sunday, May 10-13. Artists from several disciplines work together to produce, workshop and perform these original works for adult audiences. Tickets are $15. 1404 Spring St. NW, Atlanta. www.puppet.org.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE

For boy band beginnings, Timberlake has maintained a career where so many of his peers have faltered and been forgotten (or at least been reduced to a nostalgic punchline). He'll bring his tuneful catalog and formidable dance moves to the Infinite Energy Arena on Friday, May 11. Tickets are $53.50-$254. 6400 Sugarloaf Parkway, Duluth. 770-626-2464, infiniteenergycenter.com.
