It may be outside the perimeter, but Atlantans are clamoring to get there.
Perhaps it can be attributed to wanting to avoid parking woes on game days or the need for a designated driver after a night out, but whatever the reason — The Battery at SunTrust Park was once again named Atlanta's hottest venue by the ride-sharing app Lyft.
On Tuesday, Lyft announced its 5th annual “Lyftie Awards,” which looks at the most popular destinations in various cities across the country.
“We’re proud to celebrate the businesses, drivers and different modes of transportation that make each of our cities special,” Sam Bond, southeast regional director of Lyft, said in a release.
Here are Atlanta’s 2019 “Lyftie” winners:
- Most Celebrated Venue: The Battery
- Top Transit Stop: College Park Transit Station
- Late Night Neighborhood: The Highlands
- Most Celebrated Restaurant/Bar: New Realm Brewing
In addition to destinations, Lyft also gave out awards to drivers in each city. Dwight Graham was a 2019 Lyft Driver of the Year recipient in Atlanta.
"As a freelance cinematographer Lyft helped me pave the way to continue to build my business on my own schedule,” Graham said in a release.
He also had recommended destinations for Atlantans:
Graham’s favorite places to recommend are: Georgia Aquarium; Atlanta Botanical Gardens; and Mary Mac’s Tea Room.
Atlanta also ranked No. 7 on the national list of cities with “most shared rides.” It didn’t crack the top 10 for top tipping cities.
