WZZM reports that Delaney Johnson, 17, and her 2-year-old Dutch shepherd service dog Griffin attended prom with Nick Ackerman, 19, and his German shepherd service dog, Troy.

In fact, the pair attended one another’s proms, so they enjoyed two special evenings together.

Johnson’s service dog helps control her narcolepsy with cataplexy, which can cause debilitating attacks often triggered by anxiety. Griffin helps keep Johnson calm and is trained to stay with her during an attack.

Ackerman was born without lower and upper arms. Troy helps Ackerman reach items and can even help him zip up his jacket.

The teens met at a kennel while working on a school project about service animals.

They decided it would be neat to attend each other’s proms with their service dogs.

The dogs were popular at the dances, though Troy did get a bit spooked by the crowd and noise.

Johnson credited her school, Haslet High School, for being so accommodating to her service animal.
