Decatur is losing a 15-year-old boutique that has been highly rated by online reviewers.

But customers can still shop at the boutique's locations in Brookhaven, Ponce City Market and soon: Avalon.

Scheetz officially signed the lease Thursday for the new store in Spring 2017 at Alpharetta's ever-popular development.

Boogaloos boutique owner Penny Scheetz told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution the closing of the West Ponce de Leon Avenue store in Decatur is bittersweet, but it's been on her mind for a little over a year now.

"Decatur's doing great, but it's changed a bit," Scheetz said. "We felt like we had to evolve, too."

Boogaloos opened its new Ponce City Market location right before Memorial Day weekend this year and according to Scheetz, the new store is just too close to the Decatur location.

Opening the Ponce City Market location, she said, was an amazing opportunity to not only service her Decatur customers, but the midtown and downtown areas as well.

The company is holding a blowout sale at its Decatur location before it closes up in late July or early August, Scheetz said.

The boutique posted the sale flyer on its Facebook page Wednesday, announcing a "moving blow-out sale" with up to 80 percent off items in the store and an additional 10 percent off purchases of $100 or more.
