It's not hard to see why Trashy Diva owner and designer Candice Gwinn, has stayed in the Big Easy since moving there from her home not far outside of Atlanta in the late 1990s.
The store she founded currently has five locations in New Orleans which feature vintage-inspired selections of everything from lingerie to sun dresses as well as modern inspirations, has thrived in the French Quarter.
Now, 20 years later, she returns to her hometown with a new storefront in Poncey Highland.
"The Poncey-Highland neighborhood strikes a great balance between vintage and modern elements and we felt like we could bring a needed service to the area," said Erin Hall, Public Relations at Trashy Diva. "We have two storefronts in the development. One will be dedicated to lingerie while the other will house our clothing line along with shoes and accessories."
While this may seem like just another niche clothing store for the Poncey-Highland, Trashy Diva's wide selection of outfits is unlike that of any other store in the area. They offer attire that is flattering to women of all shapes and sizes. From the 40's and 50's inspired dresses and clothing lines to the vintage-inspired footwear and accessories. Dresses range from $150-$225 depending on the design.
"We're very excited to be a part of the business landscape in the Poncey-Highland neighborhood and we can't wait to bring Trashy Diva to Atlanta," added Hall. With an expanding selection that includes shorts, skirts, blouses, and outerwear inspired from fashion a half-century old, Trashy Diva should be a welcome options to Atlanta shoppers.
The new location will be at 675 N. Highland Ave. on the northeast side of Poncey-Highland.
